Fight Everyone steamroll everything in their path with a punishing eight-headed hardcore hydra entitled "Up Against the World" out January 9, 2006 on New Age Records. On this five-song debut EP, the straight edge Los Angeles octet has given birth to an old school hardcore monster. With a definitive roar, the trio of gruff gang vocals commands an endless mosh-stomp on cuts like “Our Strength,” “Lights Out” and “Against All Odds.” Guitars slice with the precision of early Earth Crisis and Sick of It All, while the rhythms bear the blood of classic New York hardcore. Make no mistake, this is hardcore, that’s brutal, bludgeoning and honest. With an eight member assault reminiscent of Path of Resistance, the band commands the attention and respect demanded by the entire scene, regardless of coast or creed. Vocalist Zack Whitmer describes the fury at the heart of Fight Everyone. “We wanted to keep the album catchy with a lot of gang vocals, but maintain a sound that’s non-stop, heavy and driving the entire time. We just wanted to be direct.” Songs like “Anthem” and “Sink or Swim” are a clear call-to-arms for kids to stay true to their beliefs. With a pure and raw sound, the band channels the spirit in the New York City clubs and basements during the genre’s heyday. However, the choruses are infectious and forceful enough to incite the message of unity at the music’s. Formed in early 2005, these eight individuals also fill a void for true hardcore in their native Los Angeles. Whitmer comments, “The LA area has been waiting for a straight edge band to come through like this. The support that we get from the kids is out of control.” Along with Whitmer, the other members—co-vocalists Mikee Domingo and Will Morlan, guitarists Wes Daggett and Taylor Young (Crematorium), bassist Matt Maraia, sampler Logan Whitmer and drummer Rhett Hornberger—all live a strictly straight edge lifestyle. As a result of their dedication to sticking to this, they focus a kinetic anger into a tangible intensity on tape and in front of any crowd. Having shared stages with the likes of Death Before Dishonor, Ramallah, Turmoil, Burn In Silence, Path of Resistance and First Blood, this band is ready to leave a trail of destruction across the country. All donning camouflage shorts onstage, the eight-piece creates a chaotic explosion of rage. About their onstage assault, Whitmer shows, “The camo looks crazy onstage and it just unifies us like a ‘Straight Edge Army.’” With tons of training under their belts, this army is ready to take over. Ultimately, Fight Everyone is a breath of fresh air for an almost non-existent straight edge scene.
